About The Windrush Shirt

More than a football shirt. A piece of history, community and culture.

The Windrush Shirt pays tribute to the generation whose arrival from the Caribbean helped shape modern Britain and left a lasting legacy across our communities, culture and football.

Inspired by the story of HMT Empire Windrush, which arrived in the UK from Jamaica in 1948 carrying hundreds of Caribbean passengers, the shirt celebrates the people who came to Britain to build new lives and the generations that followed. Their influence has become an important part of British life — from music and food to art, community and the beautiful game.

Designed by Stretford Paddock fan Luke Hostad, the shirt brings that story into the identity of our football club. The understated black design features green and gold detailing inspired by Jamaica, with imagery of the bow of the Windrush sublimated onto the fabric and the Stratford Paddock crest proudly embroidered on the chest.

On the sleeve is a quote from Naomie Harris reflecting on the importance of the Windrush era to British history and our multicultural society, while the Hi-Spec sleeve sponsorship and subtle Windrush detailing complete the design.

It’s a shirt about where we’ve come from, the communities that make football what it is, and celebrating a history that belongs to modern Britain.
